Would you rather...

Would you rather only read the book a movie is based on, or only see the movie made from a book and why?
Since I usually see movies before reading the books, I'll go with only seeing the movie.  It takes a lot less time to watch a movie than read a book.  In the past if I really liked a movie, I would read the book to see if it's better.  Though there have been a number of times I've read the book before the movie was made. In those cases I was always disappointed with the movie with one exception: The Green Mile

I would much rather see the movie only than just read the book. When it comes down to it though, I would much rather both watch the movie and read the book. I did this with Harry Potter and it allowed me to have two sides to the story as the books had more than the movie so it was nice to be able to see it from two perspectives.
