Do I use AI when publishing books?
This has become such a controversial topic that I felt I needed to address it.  I am obviously a fan of using AI with my social media marketing.  Despite what people think, it's not lazy to use AI.  It takes me a good amount of time to get useable ads. I'm not an artist, and it takes too long using Photoshop, and I don't use Canva.  Nor am I willing to spend too much money on hiring someone when I can do most of the work myself.  AI fills that void for me, and it can be a lot of fun creating the ads.  I'm careful however to only use actual photos of the products in my store, so you can be confident of what you are buying.  I will never be included on those AI scam influencer videos posted on Facebook.

Since there are so many people against any use of AI, I will only use it for any cover designs if approved by the person paying me to create one for them. Just realize that a human made cover will cost more than an AI assisted cover.  If I'm expected to create a cover with no AI help, it will take me longer, so I would not only charge for any photos I have to buy, but the labor cost of creating it.  If you don't care if I use AI, your cover might only cost $10.  If I have to create one from scratch, it could cost anywhere from $30 to $100.  So that's up to you.

I will not use AI to help edit your book. I would do that all on my own, the same as I do with writing/editing my own books.  I do use AI for any picture books I create, since again, I'm not an artist. I have always written my books as an escape. I get caught up in the new worlds and characters I create, which would be impossible if I let AI do it for me. I do agree that you aren't an author/writer if you let AI do that for you.  You're only a publisher, and there is nothing wrong with that.  But be honest and call yourself that instead.  I am both a writer and a publisher.
